They're MPEG-2 from a DVB-T card. The actual files have a .nuv extension,
but I don't think that in itself is an issue.

Nope.

Zoom Player doesn't like the format either, VideoLan Client WILL play the
video from the files, but I get no audio :-( And yes, my sound card is working ;-o
And the VLC log says it's found an mpeg audio track and gives no error messages,
so I have no idea what to try next.
