Hey there,

Just so you know, to open a file under OSX from the commandline in  
VLC do

open -a "/path/to/VLC.app" "/path/to/mediafile.mpeg"

works fine.

Thanks for tapeworm - I donated and use it on my windows box. I  
wouldnt mind using it on my OSX laptop too ;-P

Matt,

Thanks.  I'll tinker with that the next time I bring my Mac home from the
office.  The other problem I had was that my videos are all MPEG-2, and
won't play on my Mac in any case, because I don't have QuickTime Pro.  That
makes it a bit hard to test, though I think I can get around that.
